Greetings all, autumn is truly upon us with winter pushing at its heels. The Committee hope you are all well and keeping safe and sane in this ever changing environment.

Membership fees and Club finances.

We hope you all received the communique regarding the financial circumstances the club is in, and would just like to remind everyone gently that if you feel able to pay your membership subs, they are now due.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with a member of the committee if you wish to discuss the issue of subs for 2021.
Pam has put a copy of the audited accounts up in the Club porch, so that it is available for everyone to see. In the absence of a discussion at the AGM, please direct any questions you have regarding these to Pam.

Working groups.
Bob Foster and his group of merry men, ( Jim, Chris, Paul, Alan, Bernie, Tim and a special thanks to Charlie for his expertise), are to be thanked for their hard work in stripping and re-roofing the leaky garage roof.
Bob has arranged a workparty for Sunday 1st November ( Weather permitting) to continue the work to widen the path around the Green. Anyone with an hour to spend to help would be most welcome.

Social evenings.
The attendance for Saturday night social evenings has been disappointing. The committee has therefore decided to revert back to Friday night opening, as of Friday 6th November. The evenings thus far, even with small numbers have been most enjoyable, so please if you think you are able come along and join us.

  • Friday 6th November Quiz- Catch phrases
  • Friday 20th November Jims music quiz
  • Friday 4th December TBA
  • Friday 18th December Christmas themed evening with raffle.

Short-mat Bowls
Following much consultation with Bowls Oxfordshire, we hope to get the short mat season started on Friday 6th November 2-4 pm. This is obviously dependant on the Government guidelines remaining as they are. The numbers will be limited to a maximum of 16 players, and pre-booking of the session is required. Please contact Joy Williams to book your place. Drinks/ refreshments will not be provided so please bring your own.

The committee have been made aware of the sad death of Harold and Joan Blake, loyal members of the club for many years. The family will be donating some items to the club, as per their parents wishes.
