Dear Members,

It's been a while since we communicated on the web-site, but as the regulations evolve its an opportunity to let everyone know of the changes taking place at the moment.

The Committee met yesterday and discussed the relaxation of regulations. We have decided in line with Bowls England guidance:

  • To continue with the recommendation to wear face coverings whilst within the clubhouse and changing rooms, but realise this cannot be enforced.
  • To continue with rink bookings/contacts lists until such time as the QR codes are discontinued by the Government.
  • The mats and jack will be kept out. Please continue to sanitise them pre and post your session.
  • The toilets will not be open for roll ups.  Please arrive ready to play.
  • For those on the cleaning rota, please let a Committee member know what days you plan to clean so that the club can be opened up for you.

Welcome new members

The Committee would like to welcome all the new members who have joined the club, both pre and post from the Open day. Following the open day there have been 2 groups of new bowlers taking part in taster sessions, many of whom have joined as a result.  2 have played their first games for the club, and we hope the remainder will follow shortly.

In order to encourage these new players and give them some practice could members consider coming to the club on Friday evenings to take part in an informal roll-up. Please let Maureen or Sue know if you are interested.

Help Wanted

We need Captains of the month or for games for August/September, also names on the Bar rota for the Friday night socials and home friendly games.

There is always something to do around the Club. Bob continues to coordinate the Wednesday morning work party. Please come along from 10.00 even if its only for an hour.
