The club welcomes new members through the whole of the season and we hold a social evening on Fridays from 6pm until 8pm if anyone would like to have a taster session just ring up and we will arrange it.

Welcome to the Kidlington Bowls Club website

We are a very friendly club who would welcome both young and older generations to visit the club and try the game of bowls.  We are situated in the centre of Kidlington with ample parking on site.
We have coaches who will be there to help you and get you started in this most enjoyable and friendly game.

Two opportunities to support our men’s team this week.

- Thursday 17th July, a must win league game at home,  against  West Witney.  A win should see them stay in Division One next season.

- Friday 18th July sees the first round of the Hawker Cup, where one rink is played at home and simultaneously one rink is played away.  Kidlington are drawn against City & County ‘A’ so you could support at either venue.

Congratulations boys!

So pleased to report that Paul McGrath and Jim Feeley beat Thatcham 5-18 to win the Berkshire/Oxfordshire Final of the National Senior Pairs.
They will now meet the Wiltshire winners on a neutral green by the end of July.

Congratulations to Paul McGrath and Jim Feeley, who have won through to the area final of the National Over 60s Pairs, beating Headington on the last end of their semi final.  They will travel to Thatcham on a date to be arranged.

The men have reached the semi final of the County Senior Fours, to be played at Kidlington on Sunday 6th July 10am.

Jim & Sue Feeley, Paul McGrath and Joy Williams continue their progress in the County Mixed Fours.  Their next match is at Witney Mills on Friday 4th July 6pm.

Well done to the men for making it to the semi final of the National Two Fours Competition, losing to Banbury Central by six shots.  Their best performance in this competition to date.

The club was well represented at the inaugural Oxfordshire Mixed Aussie Pairs competition, played across two venues.
We are pleased to report that we secured 1st, 3rd & 4th places at Burford, with winners Sue and Jim Feeley progressing to Finals Day on 3rd August.
Well done everyone

On 9th June, we were pleased to host a charity match for the Dennyside Bowling Association.  The ‘Denny’ play matches all around the South-East with the aim of helping their host clubs raise funds for a chosen local charity.  On the day £2000 was raised for ROSY (Respite For Oxfordshire’s Sick Youngsters) who support families by providing respite care for young people with life limiting illnesses.  Thank you to the ‘Denny’ for a great day of bowls and for helping to raise such a fabulous sum.

A nail biting end to the annual local derby saw Paul McGrath’s rink score the three shots needed on the last end to secure a one shot victory (63-62) for Kidlington over Woodstock to retain the Kidwood Salver.

Pictured are the two teams before the game and Kidlington captain Eddie Stevens receiving the salver from his brother, Woodstock captain Tim Stevens.

At the end of the short mat season, we need to say a massive thanks to Bob Foster for organising the whole season, plus two recent competitive matches.
The fabulous sum of £1,044 was raised this year, which will be put towards buying a new mat ….. now we have visited other clubs and have ‘mat envy’.
